Goose Mounts by Species
Canada Goose Mounts ($800)
The big honker is the most requested goose mount we build. A giant Canada in a landing pose, wings cupped and feet down, is a showpiece for a wall or a lodge entry, and a standing or sentry pose on a corn-stubble base fits a smaller room. Late-season birds have the fullest plumage and make the best mounts.
Snow Goose and Blue Goose Mounts ($675)
Spring snow goose season fills the freezer, and a mature white snow goose or a dark blue-phase bird mounts beautifully. Flying pairs and small flocks of snows and blues are a specialty; see our snow goose mounts page.
Specklebelly (White-Fronted) Goose Mounts ($675)
The orange bill, barred belly, and white face patch make a speck one of the prettiest geese on the wall. A landing or standing speck pairs well with a Canada for a two-bird scene.
Ross’s Goose and Brant Mounts ($675)
Small geese with big character. A Ross’s goose mounted next to a snow goose shows the size difference, and an Atlantic or Pacific brant is a rare bird on a Midwest wall.

Goose Mount FAQ
How much does a goose mount cost?
Canada goose mounts are $800 and snow, blue, specklebelly, Ross’s, and brant are $675 at Stehling’s Taxidermy, any pose. Habitat bases, water scenes and dead-mount backers such as shadow boxes are priced separately.
How long does a goose mount take?
12 to 14 months standard, with rush service available at 180, 90, or 30 days.
Can you mount a banded goose with the band on?
Yes. We leave the band on the leg and can position the mount so it shows.
Do you do flock and strap mounts?
Yes. Multi-bird flying flocks and traditional hanging strap mounts of geese are quoted per project.
Can I drop my goose off in New Franken?
Yes. Our New Franken showroom at 3861 Algoma Road, near Green Bay, takes drop-offs and pickups, and every goose is mounted in our Jefferson studio. Hours change with the season, so check current drop-off hours before you come.
