Wisconsin’s Flagship Taxidermy Studio
Stehling's Taxidermy's flagship studio is at 913 North Parkway Street, Jefferson, WI 53549 (call 920-650-7800). For over 50 years we've created museum-grade whitetail deer, bear, turkey, waterfowl, fish, and African game mounts for Wisconsin hunters, with whitetail shoulder mounts starting around $1100.
Eight thousand square feet of craftsmanship, observation, and legacy — just off I‑94 and Highway 26.
A studio built to be seen.
When we designed Jefferson, we didn’t build a shop with a counter out front. We built a studio — 8,000 square feet of it — and then we put the work on display. The showroom holds mounts from six continents, the observation windows open onto the floor where they’re made, and the equipment behind the glass is the most advanced in the region. It’s the largest taxidermy studio in Wisconsin and among the largest in the world.
It’s also the kind of place a hunter can pull a trailer into on a Saturday morning, walk through the showroom with their kids, and leave their buck in the hands of people who have been doing this for fifty years.
Now in its second generation, the studio is run by brothers Aaron and Austin Stehling — the same family standard, the next chapter of the work.
Watch your mount take shape.
Most taxidermy happens behind closed doors. Ours doesn’t. The Jefferson studio was built with observation windows so clients, families, and anyone curious enough to walk in can watch the process — the forms going up, the hides being fit, the finishing work that turns a trophy into an heirloom.
Come visit anytime during studio hours. You don’t need an appointment to look.

The FloorJefferson Studio FAQ
Do I need an appointment to drop off?
No. You can drop off work during any studio hours — Monday through Friday 2–5 PM, Saturdays 9 AM–12 PM — and you’re always welcome to walk through the showroom while you’re here. Sunday drop‑offs are by appointment.
Can I watch my mount being worked on?
Yes. The observation windows run along the studio floor, and visitors are welcome to come watch the process anytime we’re open. Bring the kids.
Is there parking for boats and hunting trailers?
Yes. The lot is built for it — easy pull‑through access, plenty of room to turn a trailer around.
Do you take out‑of‑state or out‑of‑country work?
Yes. We handle animals from across the U.S. and around the world. Shipped specimens are accepted; call us before sending so we can walk you through packing.
Fifty years of Wisconsin craftsmanship. One drive off I‑94.
