Flying Goose Mounts

A flying goose is built for the wall or the ceiling. Choose a landing-in pose with feet down, a cupped decoy-commit pose, a climbing flush or a banking turn — then how it hangs: flush to the wall, from the ceiling, or as part of a multi-bird spread. Canada geese are $800; snow, blue, specklebelly, Ross’s and brant are $675 in any pose. Flock displays and habitat are quoted per project.

The craft

What makes a great flying goose mount

A flying goose has to earn its wall space. The wingspan is the whole point — we set each mount so the wing groups read correctly from every viewing angle, with the head position matched to the flight phase (committing, banking, climbing, flaring).

Standard flying styles, cupped decoy-commit poses, landing-in poses, and specialty multi-bird flock mounts are all part of our flying goose work. Hanging hardware, ceiling-hang options, and wall-flush installations are all available.

What to expect

Built the right way, every time

Every mount we deliver goes through the same meticulous process — no shortcuts, regardless of pose or species.

Wing authenticity

Primary and secondary feathers re-set by hand after drying so the wing reads right at any angle.

Decoy-commit pose

The classic cupped and committed pose waterfowlers chase all season.

Install options

Field care

Get the most out of your bird

The 30 seconds after the bird hits the ground matter more than anything we do in the studio. Follow these basics to protect your mount:

  • Leave the goose intact — do not gut
  • Smooth feathers, especially wing primaries
  • Tuck the bird’s head under its wing, place it in one or two Ziploc bags or garbage bags, and freeze it
  • Label the bag clearly
