Most shipping damage happens before the box ever leaves. Follow these and yours will not be part of that statistic.

- Freeze it solidNot partly frozen. Solid, all the way through, before it goes in the box.
- Always ship on a MondayEarly in the week means your package never sits in a warehouse over a weekend.
- Box and insulateA sturdy box lined with sheet insulation or foam batting. Use plenty — it cushions and it keeps the cold in.
- Bag and sealHeavy-duty plastic bag, closed with zip ties.
- Use more tape than you thinkBoxes get handled hard. Tape every seam.
- Put a packing list insideList every item, plus instructions and any reference photos. For migratory waterfowl, include a completed migratory bird tag for each bird. Both come in our shipping kits — or ask and we will email you copies.
- We confirm it arrivedBy phone, by email, or through your client portal, so you are never wondering.
No box? We will mail you one.

For overseas shipments we can work through our broker or yours, and we can help with USDA clearance. Stehling’s is a USDA-approved import facility — number W10015 — federally licensed for international avian imports. If you are booking a hunt abroad, talk to us before you go, not after.
We crate it ourselves.
Since 1978 we have shipped thousands of finished mounts, and we do the crating in-house rather than handing it to someone else. Work has gone out to homes across the country and as far as South Korea. Your mount arrives the way it left.
Or we bring it to you.
We pick up and deliver finished mounts with our own late-model fleet, and we can help set up mounts and habitat displays on site. No freight company, no handoffs. Contact us for pricing and availability in your area.
