Dead Mount Geese

Gallery-style goose mounts — Canada, snow, specklebelly, and blue geese presented on hand-built backers with the weight and drape of a bird just brought to hand.

The craft

What makes a great dead mount goose

A dead-mount goose has to read heavier than a dead-mount duck — it is a bigger bird with more body mass, and the drape of the neck and wings is what makes the pose convincing. We build single-bird dead mounts, strap mounts, and multi-goose group mounts on large custom backers.

Each goose is hand-skinned, fleshed, and washed before any pose work starts. The feather groups are re-set by hand after drying so the finished bird sits right when viewed from any angle.

What to expect

Built the right way, every time

Every mount we deliver goes through the same meticulous process — no shortcuts, regardless of pose or species.

Scale-matched backers

Backers sized to goose wingspan so the mount does not feel cramped on the wall.

Single or grouped

Solo goose, strap of 2-3, or full limit mount on one plaque.

Field care

Get the most out of your bird

The 30 seconds after the bird hits the ground matter more than anything we do in the studio. Follow these basics to protect your mount:

  • Do not gut or process the bird
  • Smooth feathers before bagging
  • Use a bag big enough — do not force the neck
  • Label species, date, and any special requests
