What defines a great diver or sea duck mount
Diver ducks and sea ducks earn their own category. These are the late-season, big-water, often-cold-hands species that serious waterfowlers chase across Great Lakes reefs, Atlantic coastlines, and Alaskan rock piles.
We mount canvasbacks, redheads, ringnecks, bluebills (greater and lesser), goldeneyes (common and Barrow's), buffleheads, harlequins, old squaws, eiders (common, king, spectacled), and all three scoter species. The posing options matter for this family — a diver on the rig looks completely different than a flushing scoter or a rafted eider pair. We'll recommend the pose that actually tells the story of your hunt.
Built the right way, every time
Every mount we deliver goes through the same meticulous process — no shortcuts, regardless of species.
Big-water-accurate
Rock-pile bases, ice-shelf mounts, open-water swim scenes — built to match where the bird actually lives.
Specialty species
Harlequins, old squaws, and king eiders deserve the finishing work their plumage demands.
Pair & trio mounts
Many divers mount best as pairs or trios — drakes, hens, and eclipse plumage together.

Get the most out of your bird
The 30 seconds after the bird hits the ground matter more than anything we do in the studio. Follow these basics to protect your mount:
- Do NOT gut or field-dress the bird
- Smooth feathers in natural direction before freezing
- Wrap in plastic bag, press out air, label species + date
- Freeze flat; avoid bending the neck or wings
