Picking Up Your Finished Mount
Your trophy is finished and ready to come home. Here's what to expect on pickup day — from the call we make, to what to bring, to how to load and protect your mount on the drive back.
When your mount is complete, we'll contact you to schedule pickup at the location you originally dropped off at. Pickup is during open hours at either of our shops — we'll walk you through the finished piece, settle anything that's still owed, and make sure you leave with everything you need to enjoy your trophy for decades.
The Call
When your mount is complete, we reach out by phone, text, or email — whichever contact method we have on file. We'll confirm your preferred location (Jefferson or Green Bay) and book a window that works for you.
Settling the Balance
Final balance is due at pickup. Many mounts are already paid in full through our Easy 8 Payment Plan or prepayment — if so, you're all set. Otherwise, we accept cash, check, and major credit cards.
The Walk-Through
When you arrive, we'll bring your mount out and walk through it together. This is your moment to inspect every angle, ask questions, and learn how to care for it for the long haul.
Your Stehling’s Tag
Every finished mount leaves with a Stehling's tag — our signature on the work. USDA imports and CITES species also leave with their official import paperwork tucked alongside.
Loading the Mount
We help you load it. Larger shoulder mounts, full-body mounts, and pedestals need careful planning — see the vehicle size guide below so you arrive with the right setup and a helper if needed.
The Drive Home
Drive carefully and avoid extreme heat or cold left sitting in a vehicle. Once home, hang or set the mount somewhere stable, away from direct sunlight and HVAC vents. We're a phone call away if anything ever comes up.
What to Bring
- Photo ID and your invoice or receipt number
- Final balance — cash, check, or major credit card
- A vehicle that fits your mount (see size guide below)
- Moving blankets, an old sheet, or a clean tarp
- A second set of hands for shoulder mounts and pedestals
- For fish: a long flat surface (SUV cargo or truck bed)
- For European mounts: a sturdy box; antlers wrapped
- For birds: a deep box with crumpled paper for feathers

How will I know my mount is ready?
We'll reach out by phone, text, or email using the contact info we have on file. If yours has changed, please let us know so we can find you when your trophy is finished.
When can I pick up my mount?
Pickup can be made anytime during our open hours. Hours vary slightly between our Jefferson and Green Bay locations — see the Contact page for current hours at each shop.
Do I have to pay the full balance at pickup?
Yes — we don't release mounts until the balance is settled. That said, many mounts are already paid in full through prepayment or our Easy 8 Payment Plan, in which case there's nothing left to do but enjoy the walk-through.
What if I can’t pick up the mount right away?
Just let us know. We can hold mounts for a reasonable time at no cost. If your situation needs longer-term storage, give us a call and we'll work it out.
Can you ship my mount instead?

What if I notice an issue with my mount after I get home?
Call us. We stand behind our work, and minor adjustments and questions are part of the service that comes with every Stehling's mount.
