Hen Turkey Mounts

At Stehling’s Taxidermy, hen turkey mounts are one of our favorite pieces to create. While toms get most of the spotlight, a well-mounted hen has a quiet beauty all its own — soft, detailed plumage, subtle earth tones, and a natural elegance that brings warmth and realism to any display. Whether it’s a solo hen, a hen with poults, or a hen paired alongside a strutting tom, these mounts add depth and storytelling to your collection.

Brothers Aaron and Austin Stehling have mounted dozens of hen turkeys over their 50+ combined years in the trade. Every mount is custom — from the head angle and body posture to the base, habitat, and display setting. Hens work beautifully as stand-alone wall or pedestal mounts, or as part of a larger scene with a tom and poults. We work with you directly to design exactly the display you’re envisioning.

We ship nationwide — hunters from across the country trust us with their birds. Learn how to ship your turkey to us, or drop it off at our Jefferson, WI studio or Green Bay showroom.

What Makes a Great Hen Turkey Mount?

A great hen mount starts with how you handle your bird in the field. Proper care immediately after the harvest has a direct impact on feather condition and the overall quality of the finished piece. Read our turkey field care guide to make sure your bird arrives in the best condition possible.

Once your hen is in our studio, we discuss the exact look you want. Hen turkeys have their own unique beauty — softer, more intricate feather patterns with warm browns, tans, and subtle iridescence that require a careful eye to preserve. We pay close attention to the natural feather lay, head and neck coloring, and body posture to create a mount that looks lifelike and graceful.

Many hunters choose to display a hen alongside a strutting tom for a natural breeding scene, or with poults for a family group display. Hens also make stunning stand-alone mounts — their understated elegance is a perfect complement to any trophy room or nature display. Every hen mount from Stehling’s is individually sculpted and hand-finished — no two are alike.

See our Pricing page for current delivery times. If you need your mount sooner, we offer rush service options starting at 180 days (+25%), 90 days (+50%), or even a 30-day super rush for select orders.
